Here are a number of pieces for which we have yet to discover their artists' identities.

  [artist uknown], FIRST CYCLE - Ace's sci-fi paperback release of this tale developed from a discovered uncompleted manuscript from the late H. Beam Piper, edited & expanded by Michael Kurland.  The artist is not named in the book itself and I haven't seen any other identification, with the exception of a bookseller's opinion that it is by Wayne Barlow and a couple of displays of the cover/art stating his name as fact, but with no other source stands confirmation.

  [artist unknown], UFO - SPACE STRANGERS - Used as the cover of this Whitman coloring book.  Erv Gnat is known to have executed another cover in this series of UFO books, but we can't be certain this similar work is his as well.

  [artist uknown], THE POISON BELT - Over the years, several publishers have utilized this artwork for their releases of Arthur Conan Doyle's Professor Challenger novel.  The artist does not seem to be credited in any of these editions and while there is a signature in view, it appears to be like "W_wley" but it is just not clear enough to help more with this identification.

  [artist unknown], LORDS OF ATLANTIS - "Thrilling science-fiction novel of the great legend...Atlantis." - The Airmont paperback release of this story by Wallace West.

  [artist unknown], IN THE WET - "A strange leap into a future thirty years hence." - The Ballantine Books paperback release of this story by Nevil Shute ("the author of On The Beach").

  [artist unknown], AFTER THE RAIN - The Ballantine Books 2nd edition paperback release of this science-fiction tale by John Bowen.  The first edition had a similar composition, but seemingly executed by a different artist.

  [artist unknown], THE GATEWAY TO NEVER - "Stranded on the Hell planet" - The Ace paperback release of this entry in A. Bertram Chandler's Commodore Grimes series.  Here it was 'doubled', back-to-back, with another of Chandler's Grimes stories, The Inheritors (cover-artist also currently unidentified).  Note that there was also a later edition that preserved the story-pairing, but used only a single front cover (done by a artist, Paul Alexander)(and our story here lost the definite article becoming only 'Gateway To Never').  I have seen the artist for our presented piece here identified as Paul Alexander, but I think that is a confusion with his executing the cover to the *next* edition of this publication.

  [artist uknown], INTERCEPT UFO - "The true story of the flying saucers !" - The Zebra Books paperback release of Renato Vesco's exposé.

  [artist unknown], THEY LANDED FIRST, (THE OUTER LIMITS # 3) - "Hundreds of monsters land from outer space !" - This cover was later re-painted by artist Walter Howarth for the cover for the British collection of re-published stories from this series called THE OUTER LIMITS ANNUAL #1.

  [artist unknown], THE PLAGUE!, (THE TWILIGHT ZONE # 59) - "Hero or menace ? An astronaut returns - and threatens the earth and its inhabitants !" - This piece is said to be painted over a Joe Certa drawing.

  [artist unknown], THE SECRET OF THE MOON, (FOUR COLOR # 1253) - "Man has broken the ties of Earth and is about to conquer space " - This was the first SPACE MAN adventure.

  [artist unknown], ALIENS OR DIETIES ?, (UFO & OUTER SPACE # 22) - "Gods or men - who left this baffling design which defies science ?"

  [artist unknown], A WORLD AGAINST ITSELF, (STAR TREK # 55) - "Spock vs Slott in: A World Against Itself !"

  [artist unknown], THE HOSTAGE, (BUCK ROGERS # 6) - "Ambushed in Anarchia !" - I've seen a few merchents who register the cover of this comic to Frank Bolle - though not out of the question for me, I just can't say I've seen any other examples of his work that's achieved the same level of realism I see here.

  [artist unknown], VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, (FOUR COLOR # 1230) - "From the green gloom of the ocean's depths to a sky aflame with disaster for all the world, comes a tale of frightening suspense and adventure." -   This story was a comic adaptation of the film of the same name.

  [artist unknown], MASTER OF THE WORLD, (Four Color # 1157) - "The story of a madman who tried to destroy the armies of the world and outlaw war !" -   A comic adaptation of the film of the same title, which, in turn, was derived from the classic Jules Verne novels ROBUR THE CONQUEROR and MASTER OF THE WORLD.

  [artist unknown], THE PHANTOM PLANET, (FOUR COLOR # 1234) - "An interplanetary patrol ship lost in space, its sole survivor adrift . . . what ghostly adventure lies ahead ?" -   This was a comic adaptation of the film of the same title.  On the interweb, I've seen someone state that this comic's cover was painted by a James Morgan, but I have seen nothing else about such a connection and I've not seen any commentary about a James Morgan working in the comics industry during that period.

  [artist unknownt], THE FILE OF THE PLAYFUL PAYLOAD, (DRIFT MARLO # 2) - "Drift had to gamble . . . could he save our space secrets ?"

  [artist unknown], IAN STANNARD - ROCKET SHIP ACE, (SPACE MAN # 2) - "From the dark reaches of an outer galaxy came an insideous menace - and a call for help !" - Dell started an original series, lasting 8 issues, about a Moon-based space-corps secret from the rest of Earth's populace.

  [artist unknown], SPACE BATTLE, (SPACE MAN # 7) - "The fiercest space battle of all time !"

  [artist unknown], TYRANT OF THE NORTH, (FOUR COLOR # 488) - An adventure featuring Edgar Rice Burrough's character, John Carter Of Mars

  [artist unknown], TEST FLIGHT IN SPACE, (FOUR COLOR # 424) - A Flash Gordon adventure

  [artist unknown], THE ZARKOV LINE, (FOUR COLOR # 512) - A Flash Gordon adventure.

  [artist unknown], CYGNUS - The name of the main spaceship in the film THE BLACK HOLE.  This was one of a number of different posters put out by the producer, Walt Disney Studios, this one without identification of the artist.

  [artist unknown], DARK STAR - This movie poster, utilzed in Germany, is apparently an image created from disparate components, approximating the film's final scene.

  [artist unknown], UFO - "Unidentified...Flying...Objects...UFO...Annihilate SHADO Kill Straker... stop [Annientate SHADO Uccidete Straker] Ed Bishop-Michael Billington-Gabrielle Drake-George Sewell-Grant Taylor-Dolores Mantez-Maureen Tann-Patrick Allen-Regia Di Lane,Perry" - Italian poster for one of their cinema films made from episodes of the British Sci-Fi television series.  The main figure is the show's lead, Ed Bishop.

  [artist unknown], FORBIDDEN PLANET - "The story of man's leap to the stars and the astonishing discovery of a more than human wisdom-a power that could shatter our universe" - The Bantam Books paperback release of this novelization of the classic sci-fi movie.

  [artist unknown], UFO - This is reportedly 'key art' created, by of the producers of this British Sci-Fi television series, for foreign market promotions.  The main figure is the show's lead, Ed Bishop.

  [artist unknown], INVASION:UFO - "Aliens are colonising the Earth! // 'They' came across a billion miles of space, driven by the greatest force in the Universe: survival !" - Promotional art created by the British production company of the television series UFO, for use worldwide for a number of projects, mostly films that were just cobbled together show episodes.

  [artist unknown], THE MISSING ELEMENT, (BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25th CENTURY # 5) - "Is the key to Earth's survival on the planet Saturn ?"

  [artist unknown - after George Wilson], [unknown title], (RINTINTIN ET RUSTY # 25) - This comic was a french publication that within its covers reprinted translation of material orignally produced by Western Publishing.  Here you can see that a foreign artist was tasked with re-painting Wilson's composition for SPACE FAMILY ROBINSON #1

  [artist unknown], MENACE FROM THE DEEP, (THE FROGMEN # 11) - "A frightening monster appears !" - The merchant who recently put this painting up for sale said that it had been attributed to Vic Prezio, and while that artist certainly did the three issues prior to this one, I haven't been able to confirm that attribution and I'm not really seeing it as a Prezio piece.  The whole composition and its details seems a bit crude in comparison to those three previous covers (and his other work).
